Well I wasted my day off fixing my elliptical exercise machine. The old ramp lift motor was shot and making a lot of noise (mostly when using the machine while it was static) so I replaced it with a spare I had laying around. After tearing most of the machine apart I managed to get to it and get it removed. After that I had to dig around forever to find the recalibration procedure. So here it is:
- Unplug the machine (if it’s not already unplugged
- Plug it back in
- Hold down the Start button and Resistance plus (+) button for five
seconds to get it into diagnostic mode, then release them. - Hit the start button again.
- Hit the Ramp up (^) button.
- Let the machine cycle the ramp all the way up and down.
- Unplug for a few seconds and re-plug it in.
While I was doing this, the new lift motor was cold (from being packed away in a cold garage). When I first tried to calibrate it, the calibration failed, I figured out that just manually running the motor up and down with the ramp buttons eventually warmed it up enough to get through the calibration procedure.
